NATONAL MUSEUM

This is an agricultural project under the administration of Mayor Santiago G. Barcelona, Jr. where technological advancement on food production for personal consumption and livelihood of the people especially farmers.

OLD CHURCH RUINS


This St. Francis of Assisi Church was built in 1861 by the Augustinian Recollect Orders. Acknowledged as Classified Historical Structure, its restoration is being proposed with the collaborative effort of the City Government of Escalante, the Diocese of San Carlos and National Historical Institute.

OLD PLAZA COMPLEX

Fronting the National is the Old Plaza Complex of Escalante which existed since Spanish Regime. Across is the Gabaldon Building, the venue of education built by during the American period.

THE THREE-FIST MONUMENT

The three fists stand in the Public Plaza fronting the City Government Center of Escalante, in memory of the Escalante people involved in the Escalante Massacre in 1986 when they rose and fought against extreme poverty and militarization at the time.

DOME HOUSE

First time in Southeast Asia, Escalante City’s Dome House is made of 80% earth material, in the implementation of the Shelter Program under the administration of Mayor Santiago G. Barcelona, Jr. with Illac Diaz of My-Shelter Foundation. This has been the Tourism and Information Center of Escalante City. The upper one third of the dome is colored with mural painting done by Charlie Co.
