Use
Of the 19,276 hectares, about 96.37% are agricultural. The remaining
3.63% is utilized into urban uses. Sugarcane is planted in approximately
62% of the agricultural area; coconut is planted in 16.9%; corn in
11.4%, and rice in 0.68%. Bananas, fruits, vegetables and root crops
are also grown.
Anticipating the land requirements for future growth, the city government
has classified 16.26% for non-agricultural use:
